Thank you to all our sponsors!

See you all on July 10th at 4pm!

Next date for C-Toan 5: July 10th, 09!

Well, it’s been a pretty dry run, but we’ve finally decided on the date for C-Toan 5!
C-Toan LAN 5 will be taking place on July 10th at the usual Thomas Haney Secondary rotunda.

We’d like to thank all of you for being so patient, but our crew has been busy helping out with 2 other large LAN parties: LowerMainLAN, a joint event between CapLAN and C-Toan. Our two groups also hosted a gaming room at the very popular Anime Evolution in their new venue, the beautiful new Vancouver Convention and Exhibition Centre.
But we’ve finally decided to come back to our roots and host a good ol’ fashioned C-Toan LAN! But with a couple new twists.

We’re trying out a few new things for C-Toan 5. This time we’ll have a projector dedicated to game broadcasting and tournament hosting. Gnat and Justin will be there casting and hosting the Starcraft tourney! We feel this will add a new level to C-Toan as instead of having a few smaller tourneys, we will have fewer, but bigger tourneys and have live casting to spice up the atmostphere. Panago will be providing pizza this time around. We’re also adding some new flavours to add some variety to the usual generic pizza flavours.

All in all we’re very excited about this LAN party and we’re always looking to make C-Toan better and better. So if you haven’t already, head over to the registration page and sign up. It’s a great way to end the school year and kick off the summer!

Another LAN party done… Thanks to everyone!!

Well, another successful C-Toan is over and overall it was a blast!

Our apologies for not posting anything recent before the LAN.  We were quite busy preparing…

We’d like to thank all our wonderful sponsors for providing some excellent prizes.  The attendees who won them really enjoyed what they got…

We’d also like to thank Mr. (Phil) Crawford, Dennis Tjernagel, and Thomas Haney Secondary for providing the awsome venu that C-Toan has come to call its home.  We’d especially like to thank Phil Crawford and the techlab for providing the awsome equipment and rental computers for the enjoyment of the attendees.

The guys from Cap-LAN were there helping out again.  James and Arman did an awsome job setting up tournaments.  Thanks to Dday and James for helping out with game servers and the network.  They brought their sexy storage array to play around with…  They were there the whole night helping out and didn’t leave until everything was cleaned up.  We can’t thank them enough for that.

Lastly but definitely not least, we’d like to thank YOU the attendees!  Without you guys, C-Toan would cease to be.  You always make it a great LAN party to be at and an enjoyable one to host.  We really value your opinion and we’d like to know what you thought of C-Toan 4.  So we’ve set up a thread on LANpartyeh.com click on the link and post your comments.

Thanks to everyone and we look forward to seeing you all in the future!

1 week to go!

Well just over a week left before the event and the attendance is looking good. Some new sponsors have joined the group.
Thermaltake is a manufacturer of quality cases, cooling devices, and peripherals. They are a prominent part of gaming community and we’re happy to have their support. They’ll be providing some prizes.

Computer Power User magazine has offered to provide all our attendees with free copies of their magazine (CPU mag.) CPU magazine is a premier source for modding tips, product reviews, and for the latest computer and technology news. We’re happy to have them aboard.

Antec is back again. Antec specializes in quality cases and peripherals. Their cases are exceptionally well built and are affordable. As always we’re happy to have their support. They’ll be providing some door prizes for the attendees. Thanks a lot to them.

We haven’t seen Alienware since the first event but they’re back as well and they’ll be sending us some awsome random swag. They specialize in quality (and cool looking!) gaming systems. Great thanks to them.

Most recently Coolermaster has offered their support as well. They are the producers of quality cases, power supplies, case fans, storage, and more. They’ll be sending us some door prizes. Our thanks to them.

Aside from sponsor news… The gallery (from the old site) is now back up (sort of). Currently the 3rd event photos are the only ones up there. Check back in a couple days and you should see all event photos.

We’re planning on doing a video this time around so we need people’s help. We’re looking to get as much footage as possible so if you have a camcorder or video camera, bring it! Also, gameplay videos! If you know how, record some in-game footage and send it to us (or give it to us at the event) and we may include it in the video.

Last but hopefully not least ;-) RENTAL COMPUTERS! If you’re signed up for a rental and you know you’re not coming, let us know!
There’s currently 6 people on the rental waitlist and we’d really like to provide all of them with comps. So if for some reason you’re not coming, do everyone a favour and tell us…

Aside from that we’ll see you all at the event. It should be a blast!

Update

Only a month left until C-Toan 4 in December and we’re already at just over half capacity. All rentals are taken now. However this doesn’t mean you aren’t able to attend. You may still sign up and get put on a rental waitlist. On that note, if anyone currently renting who is able to bring their own machine or know they are not coming, please let the admin know so we can let others have your spot.

We have a new sponsor! Velocity Micro has joined our sponsor family! They will be providing some awsome swag for the attendees. Visit their website for more details and to take a look at some of their awsome systems!

There has been some confusion as to what the admission price for C-Toan 4 will be. BYOC is $15 and renting is $25. The confirmation email stated $20 and $30. That was an error on our part. Our apologies.

If you or some you know are planning on attending but not yet signed up, please do so. This helps us with an estimate of numbers.

We look forward to seeing you all in December!

Next C-Toan!

After much discussion we’ve finally nailed a date for the next C-Toan. The next LAN party will be on December 12th, 2008 at our usual venue Thomas Haney Secondary in Maple Ridge.

As most of you have noticed, the site has recently undergone a change.  We’ve moved it to something a little more ‘web standard’ and manageable by the staff.  The site is not yet totally updated so please check back within the next few days.  Pre-registration opens on October 15th.

This time we’re trying to implement some new ‘activites’ and ideas to make the event more enjoyable for everyone.

We’re also looking for some new staff.  Particularly to run tournaments and to take photos and videos.  If you’re interested, contact the admin and we’ll get back to you as soon as we can.

For now, mark December 12th on your calendars and we hope to see you all there!
